Thinking, Thinking… Two

Continuing from yesterday’s post...

When I am thinking about a larger piece I use my Nostalgie Journal to sketch out ideas…
This takes me back to days as an architect when my thinking was done with pen to paper.

The line of sketches
above culminated with a final sketch, left, which will become a
watercolor painting.

This will be fleshed out today and a watercolor will be created, and someday (hopefully soon) an announcement of a book will be forthcoming with this image in it!

A Nostalgie journal is less expensive than a watercolor journal, but I can still keep track of an idea.

Sometime it shows me how
an idea I had really doesn’t work, in which case I will go back to rethink how I can create the image, as in
the one shown right.

My degree in architecture
comes in handy when
reworking and reworking,
because I don’t get discouraged.

It is all part of the process
of thinking through an idea
from conception to final product.

All of this went into the watercolor
shown left, of Gibbs
meeting one of the horses.

This is all copyrighted… Just saying.
