Pepé Le Pew was a favorite cartoon of mine…
Had to be the first sketch of the New Year in the Virtual Sketchwalk group!
I wanted you to see that I had water-colored his black with a dark sepia
but didn’t like the watercolor next to the Platinum Carbon ink so
I brushed it with De Atramentis in a Pentel waterbrush.
I should have waited until the ink dried. Duh!
(The distortion is that I took one image while holding it down.)

Decided to move him into the second image of hot air balloons on a float.
(I always think of Santa Fe and Napa Valley.)

I haven’t posted items because I had not way to download
the second camera due to puter troubles!
And in case you don’t know who the rascal is:
Moleskin A4 Watercolor Journal, Fineline masking fluid,
Lamy Al-Star with De Atramentis Document Black ink,
Platinum Carbon Pen with Platinum Carbon ink waterproof cartridges,
Holbein, and DS Primatek watercolors, and Daniel Smith Watercolors.

I started a Facebook group page (you must join to view) to allow everyone to share their virtual sketches, and also where we will, from time to time, take virtual sketch walks together. Come join us On Facebook if you are inclined!
If you want to know more about what a virtual sketchwalk is review my first post.
There are a few more notes/pointers on our first walk through Laguna Beach, California.
I also created an accompanying Flickr group!

That annoying loud-mouth editor/critic in your head? GONE! How great would that be?

I always like Pepe Le Pew – beautiful drawings, Kate – I love the colors, particularly on a gray winter morning.
