While I was sick I took the Wild Flower Sketchbook Explosion (workshop)
with Lucia Leyfield (she goes by the name Wild Ink).
I had a lot of fun, and the price (around $20 US) is good for the class.
I think this is a great workshop for beginners
and yet, I learned a few tricks I will definitely use in my sketchbook!
Two of the takeaways were the encouragement to use
the white pen — which I always forget about — in my work.
It adds a liveliness, above.
The other is the use of touching water around a dark center to create delicate petals…
I need more practice but this is a fun way to create flower petals.
Lucia is a lovely teacher and I may take her lettering class which I can REALLY use…
My note about making more juicy washes was mine…
I always forget to make enough!
