I love this picture of Maddie flying with her ears in the air, and wanted to try to capture it. A challenge for me. I decided to pair it for Dan with one of her puppy pictures.
Goal was to keep a furry critter loose… I did okay!
Maddie’s puppy nose is a bit to long, and so she looks a bit older.
I used a LOT of ink under — so Dan, this may not be quite as light-fast as a watercolor
and you might want to put it in a north-facing wall that gets no sunlight —
Fluid Cold Press papers, with a Pentalic HB woodless pencil,
Noodler’s Lexington Grey Ink,Super5 Australia (Amazon when they have it or buy from Europe), De Atramentis Document Brown ink, Super5 Frankfurt (Amazon when they have it or buy from Europe), Platinum Carbon Pen with Platinum Carbon ink waterproof cartridges, Holbein, DS Primatek watercolors, and Daniel Smith Watercolors.

That annoying loud-mouth editor/critic in your head? GONE! How great would that be?
Thanks so much Kate! I think these are wonderful. Those ears are a riot when she runs. They flop over onto her head. Like every setter before her, she hears (and usually responds to) “fix your ear” often. She shakes her head to get them to flop back down. And, even though she’s over 3 years old, she still likes to lay in the yard and chew a stick. These are so Maddie 🙂
