Mary’s Lake

w16-10-4-pentalic-bikerchick-lake-04Mary J. Melange blogger friend and lover of photography,
shared wonderful images and I stole a few (with her permission),
and this one caught my eye last night.
I think I was needing some peaceful fishing energy…

As it is Inktober, I started with an inked drawing then added colored inks.
More success this time, especially with the grisaille, but even the blues and greens.

Watercolors, some blotting to varigate, splatters and wa-lah!
Middle of the night, Inktober.

  1. Now there’s a place to relax, and let the noise of the world slip away! Beautifully done!

I love the way you rendered this into such a peaceful painting. Not that the photo isn’t peaceful, but she looks way more relaxed in watercolor 🙂

Mary looks pretty chillin’, Kate. Your midnight paintings never fail to amaze me.

Katie, I absolutely love the Inktober rendering of my photo. That day of fishing was so relaxing…no agenda except to soak worms and maybe talk stupid with the girlfriends. You captured that moment and that day perfectly. Thank you!

  5. Awesome painting. Love it.

Lovely image from Mary and always a precious artist’s renditiin of yours Kate. I’m posting some photos in a bit I feel you will enjoy. I have one more “free” day before returning to regular work routine. We are getting things “righted” in the wake of Matthew.

I am preparing a blog post right now. Nature suffered the most damage in our immediate area but there was home damage and in other areas, closer to the beach, the effects were more devastating. Our home was not damaged. I love the idea of Pinterest, but too often when I get sucked in I end up on a wild goose chase, never finding what I was directed to in the first place. Thanks for the link. I will check it out later on. You are a very industrious person. 😀 All that and immeasurable talent!

I love hearing from visitors!
