We went to the PSU Farmer’s Market on the 4th of July, arriving when it opened as we wanted to avoid heat and crowds. It was lovely, cool under the canopy of trees and on the cool lawn. We bought our fill of peaches, berries, squash and lettuce, and an amazing product (below) that we used on a pork roast that very night with garlic salt, black pepper and fresh raspberries placed on the pork as it was being taken out of the oven. Heavenly.
It was the best part of the holiday, because frankly the fear of fire right now is high in the west and fireworks were not appreciated. We stayed overnight in the studio to make sure that people using illegal fireworks did not inadvertently set our studio on fire.

Beautiful drawings and that photo is making me hungry.

Such a yummy meal — now we are putting it on chicken. The best. I don’t know if the lavender has any real effect on the flavor, but the chipotle does!
