Mix-It Monthly, Pia Rom’s Challenge

mix it monthlyPia Rom is doing a Challenge called Mix-It Monthly.
Nice that it is a once a month challenge, so don’t be afraid to commit!
This month is was all about Maps!
I am showing Laguna Heart, a paper heart I made of my Home Town.
This heart has survived 25 years, and many moves, including a year-long RV tour.
Please excuse its dust and cat hair!

I love making paper — I need a big sink and a wet proof floor to do it, but it is like a good meditation . . .

I made paper for several years, many moons ago, incorporating dried flowers from my garden in some of it. My “creative” way to smush out the water – I bought two large metal squares from Home Depot. I’d stack the paper and felts between the metal and lay it in the driveway then drive my car tires back and forth over it before hanging the sheets to dry. I miss those days 🙂

Yes, I was really touched that she did that. That gives me far more satisfaction than the awards that float around (altho I like some of the award badges!!). Will work on my A to Z recap this weekend. Gotvsome flowerbed prep to do today; it’s just a little patch. Enjoy your weekend!
