X is for Xanthophyll Yellow: A-to-Z Challenge

800px-Raw_eggXanthophyll is the yellow pigments that brings many of the images on this page together: it is responsible for the egg-yolk yellow color in leaf pigments.  Their structure is similar to carotenes, as in beta-carotenes, found in carrots, and responsible for the color orange.

This yellow is one of my favorite colors, much preferred to the lighter lemon yellow.  I like that hint of orange.

I find it so odd – yellow and orange are not my colors; I never wear them nor have them in my house, yet sunflowers, daffodils and rudbekias are favorites, and I completely enjoy your paintings in these hues. Keep ’em coming !,

I get that! I used to wear many shades of blue, and now rarely unless turquoise. Probably because pastel blue seems to be THE color for older women, and i can’t (gasp) be mistaken for one of them!

Now I’m black, white , purple and pink ( which I never wore until Raqi filled my world with every shade of pink imaginable).

  3. I’m not a lover of yellow but it’s my daughter’s favorite color. Very pretty yellow pictures.
