Swan on a Lake, Beadwork

As I’ve said, this began because I was blocked.  The stress and worry over what is happening in the USA was keeping me from sleeping**, and also pushed my sketching and art creativity out the window.  Beading is a meditation, one bead at a time, in and out with the needle.  Same with the hand-sewing… I actually love to sew by hand.

This was beaded on a scrap of upholstery fabric.  It made the beading go slowly due to the thick backing — might not do THAT again.  But I love the image and it turned out nicely IMO!

Showing it both without a  flash and with…

I’ve been thinking of having the framing be the embroidery hoop — but maybe I will paint it?  I like the utilitarian look of it.  What do you think?

Stay tuned for more beaded art.  Some will be for sale.

**I pushed myself to sketch the other day… perhaps I can move back into my sktchbook too.
