I  journal and do morning stream of consciousness exercises, and
I’m again participating in Linda Hill’s Stream of Consciousness Saturday. 
I write to a timer, 15-20 minutes, no editing except spelling, and of course I add my art!

The Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “abash.” Write about the first thing that comes to mind when you think of the word “abash.”


I had to search for the meaning of abashed..
It is the strangest word, because it doesn’t sound like what it means.
It sounds like an opposite word, or a violent word…
but, “disconcerted, put off by someone’s actions” I can relate to…

I am disconcerted by what is happening politically in the USA right now.
Completely thrown by the the bigotry, violent speech, hatred toward women
*and then we had to endure this stupid platitude celebration day yesterday*
and the outright lies of politicians on both sides.
And the incredibly poor reporting of corporate news.
Just this week, what the Muslim Representative said was not reported.
Had it been factually reported, half the country might have agreed with her.
but instead they made it out that she spoke like a terrorist against the Jews…
We had to search deep to find it until finally Chris Hayes showed clips of all her speeches,
and even then he chose only the inflammatory parts to discuss, but thankfully,
you could see her words like ticker tape below the speech he was talking over.
this taking only selective words and doing it with the idea of changing what is said….
What is their agenda but to divide the citizens to drive ratings?
Corporate news.  No fourth estate.  And we the people are asleep and don’t care,
don’t demand, and in the end, we may lost this country over it.

AH, I am abashed that the news people do not demand of their stations
that they tell the whole truth, the facts, just the facts…  finally, the word.
I am horrified at the complete stupidity of we the people…
we need to turn the stations off, to not buy the rags,
to demand that they stop reporting like they are writing for the Inquirer…
Some of what passes for serious news is as stupid as
“Elvis Impregnated an Alien”

Completely utterly depressed at what is going on.
and it is not a matter of parties, because the Dems went after her all because of their financial backers.   Follow the money, see who is running our country.
Gads I hope next Saturday I get an uplifting word…
