Middle of the night drawing of the Oregon Zoo train. Dan now you are forever linked to trains, along with my girlfriend who I used to ride trains with, and a crazy boyfriend who once picked me up on a train in front of my brother (which takes heuvos, doncha’ think?)
It is also a chance for me to thank Dan and a few others (Tracey, Jilanne, Susan,
Cathy, Northern Liz, Sammy), who have brought joy into my life by introducing
me to other great blogging friends. This from the kid who would not write the
Russian girl my Aunt Elsa May Smith said would be a great pen-pal…
A gratitude post…. Middle of the night!

I guess Dan’s passion for the train has sort of created chain reaction and now we all are passionate about trains. The sketch as always is great. I still have my last post on train to come up this Saturday.

I’ve had a bit of a passion, as does my husband — if we had more trains on the west coast I think we’d take them lots! Looking forward to your posts — and BTW, my husband loved your posts so far.

Aw. Thank you Kate. I am honored to be associated with trains, and the Zoo Train in particular. I used to ride the train at Kennywood Park with my paternal grandmother. It’s the only ride in the amusement park she ever rode, and if I was with her, I was on the train with her.

Sweet memory. Do you have a picture of that train?

The “station” is shown in my post “A Train, A Train, A Train, A Train” (link on top right of my page). I’ll look to see if I took a photo of the train.
