Summertime in Oregon is announced when the Hood Rivers are ripe.
They have a burst of the sweetest flavor, and they are gone too quickly!
I missed the official Solstice since it came on the 20th this year —
But Happy Solstice a day later! Hard to believe!

Great sketches. You just reminded me of Mahabaleshwar, the strawberry capital of India.

The Hood strawberries sound delicious. The season here is not going to be good as we’ve had too much rain. My co-worker bought some from a farmer today and they were not very sweet. Guess I will wait for the raspberries…

We recently had downpours and the Hoods suffered… Last batches this Saturday… *sob*

Oh boo. It’s too bad, especially when the season is so short. Most of the year, I have to put up with the shipped California strawberries that are just not the same.
