Sammy is a single cat for the first time.
He’s always had a tumble-down face-licking pal to play with…
We’ve decided to let him have his own pal, but whether to
get a cat his own age or kittens to drive him crazy, and keep him young?
Mitchell is voting for kittens!

That annoying loud-mouth editor/critic in your head? GONE! How great would that be?
I think kittens is a good choice. Sammy should be able to be the wise elder cat.

Mitchell is also saying that we usually do rescue cats, but this may be the last time we can have kittens! At 75 we are unlikely to get kittens, but choose old cats like us! And Sammy has TONS of energy!

If it’s ok with Sammy, it’s ok with me 🙂

Kitty, my middle child at the time, did not like when I brought baby Parker home. Maybe it was because they were both females. Kitty got sick and was diagnosed with depression. Teemu, my older male was ambivalent. Sadly, Kitty was put down with kidney failure last year, but I do blame myself that introducing a female kitten was her undoing. Maybe opposite sex has something to do with it…..

I don’t know Lois… I grew up with many cats, and introducing cats, and they all got along. We had one time where they really didn’t get along (fights not territory), and we had to send the newbie off. I DO think females can be dominant in cats, so when they don’t get along it can be horrendous.

I do think it was a female thing, and it broke my heart. Am anxious to see Sammy with a little kitten, though!

I love little whiskered babies, so I might agree with Mitchell. But will Sammy agree?

Sammy will be annoyed when they find a way ot climb into his perch! But even tho he is 10, I think he is such an energetic cat he will enjoy the chases…
