In years past I’ve created pretty sketch books during the Sketchpack Project,
But this year I wanted to push myself to work on something difficult for me.
(To see other years you go here!)
To see Week 1 and how I am progressing, go here.
Reminder: The idea was to use brushes only, watercolor or inks, no linework!
Taking away my beloved lines, my life raft! I wanted to see what I’d learn…
One of the tools below was from last week….
After the tools I became just a bit more confident.
I tried a good set of washes… meh.
Then I tried my cup, a white cup with flowers, and this I liked, finally, YAYA!
The inside of the cups was easy after that…
Lights were easy, and finally, the colorful scallop… Getting better!
This gives me hope going into week three…

ABOUT SKETCHPACK PROJECT: The project began in 2011 to get folks to draw daily.
The sketchpack is a small zigzag journal with two usable sides, allowing one to sketch on both sides of 15 ‘pages’ to complete the month of August. There was much enthusiasm and the project is now repeated yearly in August, with a Facebook page for us to share as we go along.
(The page is closed for viewing but you can join to play along!)
There is an Exhibition held in October at the Artsauce Studio in Observatory,
Cape Town, South Africa of mostly local Sketchpacks!
Drawn on handmade watercolor folding journal…
Sennelier, Holbein, and Daniel Smith Watercolors + Waterbrush.

That annoying loud-mouth editor/critic in your head? GONE! How great would that be?
I think you’re doing great! It feels more comfortable now? That Cobalt Teal on Day 9–what a gorgeous color!

Just relax and have fun. Just paint and play. Do both. My best work just happens. I practice a lot .
