I’m again participating in Linda Hill’s Stream of Consciousness Saturday. whenever I have time. I write to a timer, 15-20 minutes, no editing except spelling, and of course I add my art! You can do it too!

Okay I have only one thing say.
HOW MANY ARE LEAVING WORDPRESS?
They’ve ruined the old, and I hate the Block editor.
they have made it so that I can’t publish galleries now without them looking stupid:
(oh btw, if you want to see the terrible images and how they lay
them out scroll to the bottom. No ability to have them lay out nicely,
and I could not get it to land HERE.)
HATE.
BLOCK.
IS THAT LOUD AND ANGRY ENOUGH?

I thought about leaving WP, but then I’m not sure where I’d move that would be any better. I’m seriously thinking about quitting instagram. It isn’t just the annoyance, but they keep accusing me of doing something I’m not doing and punishing me for it without giving me any real option to protest. I can hit ‘report a problem’ but what good does that do if no one’s paying attention when I do?

YES. If there is one thing about all these companies it is that they are NOT HOME… I know you’ve fallen into a hole and don’t understand it. Maybe we stick to Doodlewash.

I keep returning to the Block Editor to give it a try. I do not like the way it handles galleries and I do not like that I can’t indent blocks of text unless I insert a Classic block.
If you are stuck with the Block Editor, you can insert a Classic bloc. In that block, you can build a classic style gallery. It’s a crummy workaround and it may not be supported forever, but it does work today.

Okay I tried that, but learned two new things.
VERY VERY VERY difficult to update a published blog. (I think I got through that but didn’t go all the way.)
I still could not go into a classic gallery mode in mine — I tried classic block.
When I spoke to the not-very-helpful cust serv rep (at least she didn’t call herself a genius or I would have lost it) she said that was not available too.

Ugh, let me poke around. They may have already dropped support for that.

So in the end, the commands had disappeared, the assist said yes they had, and then I went to MPF Conservation a few days later and he had them — and sure enuf, mine were back again. It may have been a glitch! Or they had enuf complaints?
