Okay I’ve hung on to this long enough and need to get over it all.
I will share my first test teaching vlog with my fellow artist peeps.
It is about ink+ watercolor painting, shown on a Hahnemühle Post Card,
my middle-of-the-night go-to! My foray into teaching begins!
*AAAACK squeaky high voice why can’t I have a low throaty sexy voice?

Glad I got all that out because I don’t want to apologize every time…*
Be kind, peeps.

That annoying loud-mouth editor/critic in your head? GONE! How great would that be?
This was great, Katie! I like how you called them ‘happy accidents’ and again said ‘make it look like you meant it to happen.’ This is truly a little piece of art!

Thank you! Mostly they are happy… occasionally not so!

katie, thank you for this video! watching you work brings the process down to what feels like a doable process. i definitely know now that my issues have been too much paint, not enough water, which probably stems from not using a sturdy enough paper. i hope you continue to make teaching videos. i found the lighting fine, i was able to see the details. while having a deep sexy throaty voice sounds like a lot of fun, i don’t know that you want it in a teaching video! i like your voice just fine the way it is. i liked how you told all the products and how you marked your pens and all the details you put in, along with the step by step. very good job and i look forward to more! xo

Making washes — enough for what you want to do — is so important! And sometimes I get the paper wet before I start. xoxo

really enjoyed this, as I’m just playing with watercolour – does that ink that you used actually have that intrinsic ability to separate out into constituent colours…

YES and I wish I could find more that did that withhout being shimmer inks, which I am just not into that much!
Here are two other posts:
Google KWZ ink and then look for Foggy Green — a comapny in VA (I think) carries it.

Awesome! I hear you on the voice thing. By which I mean that I feel the same about my voice, but the thing is that your voice pleases me. So now I’m going to pretend that means that my voice pleases other people. 🙂 Thanks for that and for the tutorial!

M says that you have a distinctive inductive voice, and yuppers, I like your voice too.

that was fantastic Kate and it’s all YOUR fault that I have to buy a new ink now! Love that Foggy green, stupendous. You do not sound squeaky, your voice sounds lovely. I know what you mean though, when I hear my voice on tape I cringe. :o) (Oh, the link to my site is now NEW and finally LIVE! YAY! One problem, I’m having trouble typing and painting. I have an inner ear infection causing horrible vertigo and nausea. Damn, so much for getting stuff done. sigh.)

IF you can’t get it in CA I will get it and send it…
Concerned — Mitchell does well with vertigo by seeing a acupuncturist. And keeping his inflammation down, which is nto the case if you havve an ear infection. Poor baby — so sorry!
