Okay, I had to pull up an old sketch for Thursday Doors!
A wonky urban sketch of the side doors, which is nicer than the front doors, of the Monastery of the Precious Blood in the Mount Tabor neighborhood of Portland.
I love the pale green with the pop of bright red.
Stillman & Birn Journal, with a Pentalic 2B woodless pencil, Preppie Pen,
Noodler’s ink, and Daniel Smith watercolors.

Well that’s just happy! Who doesn’t love a red door? 🙂

Great looking door. I’ve been surprised several times to find side doors that are nicer than front doors.

Yes. And so far I’ve not found anyone who knows why so many church doors are painted red… but if we were having a beer we could speculate.

There are several theories but nothing conclusive

I love red doors too! It doesn’t look wonky to me at all! It’s a wonderful journal entry. It feels almost Christmasy..

I was thinking the same. I’ve not seen the place at Christmas but I wonder what it looks like with twinkle lights.
